Royal Media Services’ new
video-on demand platform
dubbed Viusasa has
announced entry to football
broadcast.
According to sports
news website Sportika,
the platform started
broadcasting Kenyan Premier
League matches in February.
Football fans were able to
catch live on phone two
matches, beginning with
a clash pitting Nakumatt
FC and Sony Sugar at
the Ruaraka Grounds on
Saturday 24. Tusker FC’s
battle with Nzoia Sugar was
also broadcast live on the
same day.
Viusasa team says fans will
be required to pay Sh50
for both fixtures to be able
watch the matches live.
“Users will be required to
pay KSh50 for both matches.
Mathare United versus
Sofapaka FC and Kariobangi
Sharks versus Gor Mahia
which will be played on
Sunday will also be available
on the app,” said Viusasa
team. B y F i l a m u K e n ya R e p o r t e r
“To gain access, simply click
‘pay’ on your app and it
will take you to the specific
match that you would like
to watch. Those with Smart
TVs can watch the matches
on TV by casting images
from the Viusasa app to their
screens.” The marketing event aims
at fostering high-level
interactions with network
groups such as producers,
distributors, mobile operator,
scriptwriters and more.
More so, for trading, sharing
ideas and perspectives
on new programmes
and development policy.
Alongside other events to
take place are conferences,
workshops, coaching and
pitching sessions. Animation
sector and new technologies
will receive special focus.
The second edition of Kalasha
International TV and Film
market will take place from
27th to 29th March 2018,
organisers have confirmed.
The Kenyan Premier League
had been in darkness since
the exit of South African
broadcast giant Supersport
in April 2017. A section of
local media houses have
often aired selected number
of matches since then.
The trade show sets to
encourage overflowing and
innovative creativity from
new talents emerging in
Eastern Africa, while seeking
support to compete in
the international sphere.
With Viusasa coming on
board, sofa set fans will be
able to enjoy the matches at
the comfort of their homes.
