PLACES TO BE ACTIVE
The Docks- the docks are always a good place to walk down to especially when the weather is nice . There ’ s sometimes different things going on their too to see like firework displays on Bonfire Night and recently some Light Displays during lockdown . There ’ s plenty of food trucks and cafés to stop at for a rest .
Kings Parade- if you want to go on a long walk , a run or a cycle then this is a great spot for you . Start at the Docks and follow along the water ' s edge as far as you want . Looking out across the water is the perfect view !
Everton Park- the high point of the park is not that far from campus and you get a spectacular view of the whole of the city .
PLACES TO TAKE VISITORS
Castle Street- filled with beautiful old buildings and plenty of places to eat and drink such as Rudy ’ s Neapolitan Pizza ( we ’ ve been and can confirm its amazing ), Underground Gin Society and Moose Coffee . There ’ s also a hidden little side street Queens Avenue with some small coffee shops and restaurants .
Bold Street and Bombed Out Church- Bold Street is the place to go for a coffee or something a bit different with lots of independent Cafes and restaurants . At the top of Bold Street is ‘ Bombed Out Church ’, which you ’ ll probably see a lot on your walk to the clubs at night , which sometimes has food festivals and bits going on .
Baltic Market- Liverpool ’ s food and drink market ! With a range of independent food vender stalls all serving different kinds of food this is a great place to go with friends when you can ’ t agree on what food to get . You can also grab yourselves some cocktails / mocktails while you ’ re there- we ’ ve been told the Biscoff Espresso Martini is a must try .
The Cavern Club- coined the ‘ Birthplace of the Beatles ’ this nightclub on Matthew Street is somewhere to take family and friends for some live music and a bit of the Beatles experience .
Tate Liverpool , Museum of Liverpool and International Slavery Museum- if you fancy a bit of an educational day out take a trip to both of these which are located near each other on the Docks . They ’ re both free entry so why not make the most of it ?! 20
