The Live Oak Emerald Regime is a Morgan Hill tradition having performed in the Morgan Hill July 4th Parade every year since 1971, when they were formed. They took a first place in the Band competition and a second place in the Flag Team division. Students from the Sifu Meng Academy have won over 180 gold medals, and 85 silver medals. The Academy, which has six locations in the Bay Area, teaches all Kung Fu programs and weapons as well as gymnastics, and dragon dancing. This dragon was really awesome! W.E.R.C., the Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center in Morgan Hill, rehabilitates orphaned and injured wildlife so they can be returned to their local habitats. On the float were several of the non-releasable education animals. They won a first place in Floats, Amateur and Non-profit. The Interfaith CommUnity of South County’s entry highlights Angel Island and Ellis Island, two National Parks that remind us that we all came to this country as immigrants searching for the opportunities and freedoms offered in the United States of America Riding his Andelusian stallion, is Claudio Arroyo who is dressed in an authentic Mexican Charro outfit. He is a California State Horsemen’s Association champion and the winner of this year’s Best Overall Adult Equestrian. 26 HAPPY BIRTHDAY America H Morgan Hill Freedom Fest 2018 This fun float is from the Santa Clara Swim Club which is a gold medal team in the USA Swimming Club Excellence Program. Their float took a first place in the Float, Amateur and Non-profit Musical category!
