Perfection! Two and a half years of hard work and dedication surely paid off. Every square in of the car was dismantled and media blasted. Everything was brought down to bare metal. Finding all the spots that needed correction, The Dart went through rigorous body work and later painted by Brad at Samuels Auto. The car was now ready for the 3rd phase of the project build. The car was originally fitted with a V6, but he knew the new transplant was going to be the V8 out of the Plymouth. The 318ci V8 was completely rebuilt by Chris at Maximum Machine Works, so Carlos new the swap was mandatory.

The Dart’s build consists of many things and Carlos let us in on the scoop. The V8’s bottom end is stock since Carlos knew the power he was to add to the engine would be manageable. A set of high flow swirl port heads sit atop the engine nicely ported and polished. In addition, Carlos added a beefy Voodoo cam and a double roller timing chain with stiffer 340 springs to seal the valves tight. The intake was upgraded to an Eddie RPM 4 barrel with a sweet 650 CFM Eddie Carb. Doug's Headers was also installed for great flow along with a completely redone dual exhaust system. Carlos doesn’t stop there. He knew he had to retouch every aspect of the Dart if he was to accomplish his vision of what he wanted the car to be.
