Fordham Preparatory School - Ramview Ramview Fall 2018 | Page 11

The year began as it does at all Jesuit schools with the Mass of the Holy Spirit. Fordham Prep Welcomes the Class of 2022 After two days of faculty and staff orientation, September 6th and 7th marked the start of the new school year at Fordham Prep with orientation for students. This included the newest members of the Prep community, the Class of 2022. Rev. Christopher Devron, SJ and Dr. Joseph Petriello ‘98 welcomed and challenged the classes to become men for others and be open to the ideals of faith, scholarship and service. Afterwards, the freshmen participated in their induction ceremony and received their class pins. Members of the Counseling Department welcomed the freshmen before they were treated to a presentation on Education in the Ignatian Way by Religious Studies Chair, Mr. Randall Pedro. While the freshmen were being welcomed, returning students met their mentors, reconnected with classmates and took ID photos. On their second day of orientation, the freshmen met the Deans and were led on tours by upperclassmen. Outdoor and indoor activities and a barbecue completed the day. Best of luck to the returning students and especially to the incoming Class of 2022. May your years at the Prep be memorable as you become men for others in the Ignatian tradition. Vol. 2 2018-19 | 11
