Freshman Swimming and Diving

The Fordham Prep freshman swimming and diving team had an excellent campaign securing runner-up positions in both the regular season and the CHSAA Freshman Championships . Notable achievements include Sean Flaherty ’ 27 in the 100 IM and 50 Breast , Aaron Flores ’ 27 in the 100 IM and 50 Breast , Marcus Pinzon ’ 27 in the 100 IM and 50 Fly , Eric Diaz ’ 27 in the 50 Free and 100 Free , Seraphin Akincilar ’ 27 in the 50 Free and 50 Back , Javon Hopkins ’ 27 in the 50 Free and 100 Free , Xavier Haughton ’ 27 in Diving , Leonard Hutaj ’ 27 in the 50 Fly and 50 Back , Nicanor Rios ’ 27 in the 50 Fly and 50 Back , Garrett Hen ’ 27 in the 100 Free and 50 Breast , David Cruz ’ 27 in the 100 Free , and Aiden Murphy ’ 27 in the 50 Back — all achieving top-12 finishes . The team ’ s success underscores the depth of talent within the freshman roster and signals a promising trajectory for their transition to the varsity level , highlighting substantial growth within the Fordham Prep swimming and diving program .
Cross Country
Our running Rams started the season strong at the Regis Invitational ., Gabe Kramer-Griffith ’ 25 and John Canale ’ 25 both ran under 15 minutes . In Rochester , New York , at the McQuaid Invitational , one of the biggest high-school meets in the country , three of our boys ran under 18 minutes for the 3-mile course . At the Manhattan Invitational , the biggest high-school cross-country meet on the East Coast , the varsity ran well , with four members of the squad running under 15 minutes , despite the wet and terrible conditions . Kramer-Griffith led the varsity with a time of 14:25 . At the CHSAA Intersectional championship , the team placed 6th , led by team captain David Rosado ’ 24 . The Sophomore team took 3rd at the Sophomore State Championships , led by Paxton Reyes ’ 26 , who broke 15 minutes for the first time . At the season ’ s final meet , the annual Jesuit championship , the Rams ran strong and took 3rd as a team , led by Canale , who ran a huge PR to close the season , and Rosado .
