SPORTS ROUNDUP

D uring the fall , the Rams competed well on land , on and in the water , and in the lanes . There is much success to share from our fall sports season .

Matthew DeCarlo ’ 24 bowls a strike on his way to a 200 plus game in a team victory over Archbishop Stepinac .
Soccer
The Varsity soccer team had a slow start to the season but finished strong with an impressive record of 10 – 3 – 5 . The Rams clinched the second spot in the Archdiocesan AA Varsity League , among six competitive teams . Notably , they celebrated Coach McNamara ’ s 500th win and orchestrated a thrilling comeback tie against Xaverian , with Jake O ’ Donnell ’ 24 ’ s last-minute goal , equalizing the game at 2 – 2 . The Rams would once again make it to the CHSAA intersectional semi-finals ,
keeping the streak of consecutive semi-final appearances since 2002 alive . Unfortunately , their season would end there against Saint Francis Prep , the eventual champions .
Meanwhile , the JV soccer team faced and conquered adversity , finishing the season at 10 – 6 . Their resilience shone through , overcoming a challenging loss to Saint Francis Prep and securing a significant victory against Iona Prep . The team ’ s season ended in the second round of the CHSAA playoffs .
Bowling
The varsity Rams secured victories against top-ranked opponents Archbishop Stepinac and Sacred Heart . Matthew DeCarlo ’ 26 led the team by turning in 200-plus games in both matches including a season-high 234 . In addition , Valentino Freitas-Garrott ’ 25 and Brunel Bawuah ’ 27 performed well in big matches . The JV team ’ s successes against Iona Prep and Salesian High School propelled them to tie for third place in the league . Notable bowlers who played a vital role in this achievement are Alex Phan ’ 26 , Daniel Greenberg ’ 27 , Jesse Farina-Mosca ’ 27 , and Andrew Lee ’ 27 .
