particularly as we are starting to see the work carried out over
the last four years beginning to make an impact on the pitch.
Our senior section is now just one tier below the ultimate goal of
achieving Welsh Premier League status and our junior section is
thriving with some fantastic talent coming through our ranks.
The recent merger has seen a number of changes to our
setup in recent months and we are hoping for an exciting end
to 2016. Our junior teams are showing excellent progress and
we will be continuing to evaluate our offer and look to develop
our own official development centre that will be created for our
more able and talented players, offering development fixtures
with other clubs across the UK.
Progression
“Given the size of our club we run trials at the end of every
season for our senior section which has a senior and development
team in place. Following the trials players are selected for the
two squads for the season. The Development team tends to
cater more towards a youth side but our more talented players
have also gone straight into our senior first team on occasions.
We also offer our players that are in transition the opportunity
to train with our senior ladies.”
Community
“Community links is the sole reason why we have been so
successful in developing the club so quickly. We offer taster
sessions, coaching programmes, school festivals and leagues in
the local area to offer opportunities as well as a direct link to our
club. We are also involved in charity fundraising for two local
charities’ we support called ‘Believe’ and ‘2 Wish Upon a Star’.
Lots of local league sides are in contact with us particularly
where girls are involved in local mixed teams and want to come
over into the female game. Our club has a mixed portfolio of
men’s, Ladies, juniors and disability football making it one of
the most complete football profiles in Wales.”
