9 Tips to a Healthier Balanced Diet

1) Make sure that the amount of food you eat is in proportion to how active you are.

2) Eat a wide range of foods, that’s what “balance” means.

3) Eat at least 5 servings of fruits or vegetables daily.

4) Many avoid Carbohydrates, that’s not right. Eat plenty of bread, rice and other starch foods; however select whole grain Carbohydrates as they contain more fibre.

5) Eat some dairy products; ensure to select low fat options.

6) Ensure your diet consists of some protein and try to eat at least two portions of Fish weekly.

7) Minimize your consumption of saturated fat and sugar.

8) Eat a max of 6g of salt daily.

9) Drink plenty of water about 6 – 18 glasses daily in addition to other fluids.
