Being lightweight, the aluminium beverage can is an optimal solution. More cans fit into a smaller space and their light weight requires less cardboard packaging for transport. In addition, a recent study by ICF International found that the combined greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with the transportation and refrigeration of beverages cans are much lower than those associated with beverages in glass or plastic bottles under the same conditions.
