Contributor Biographies

Allen, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Allen has lived in Chico since 2000, and is currently a freshman at Butte Community College. At Inspire High School, where she graduated in 2015, she helped found what is now The Living Poets' Society, and was the president of this club for four years. She was published in the Society's annual poetry anthology, Incendio in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. She was published in ME: Multicultural Echoes, a literary journal put out by Chico State's Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. In addition, she has appeared in the 2012 High School Honorable Mentions of Chico News & Review's annual Poetry 99 contest, and has received Honorable Mention multiple times in the annual Fiction 59 contest from the same paper. In addition to writing, Elizabeth has a passion for singing, is an avid reader, and also enjoys making art.

Bhopla, Rhony

Rhony Bhopla was born in London, and raised in California. She earned her degree in Biology and minor in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Davis. She is a Board Member of the Sacramento Poetry Center. Rhony moderates the Thursday Night Poetry Workshop at the Valley Hi – North Laguna Library, and is the editor of Poetry Now, a Sacramento Poetry Center online publication. She has volunteered for the Crocker Art Museum since 2011, and currently serves as the volunteer assistant to the Director of Education at the Museum. Her work has appeared in: Medusa’s Kitchen, Tiger’s Eye, Brevities, Sacramento Voices, and Convergence. Her poetry takes cues from the natural world, her travels, and experiences.

Bramkamp, Catharine

Catharine Bramkamp is an award winning poet/author/champion of Newbie Writers. She is the writer part of Newbie Writers Podcast (www.NewbieWriters.com) that focuses on newer writers and their concerns. She is a successful writing coach and author of a dozen books including Future Girls (Eternal Press). She holds two degrees in English, and is an adjunct professor of writing for JKF University. For a good time she reads, writes and visits galleries and museums.
