Bill Wagner, Executive Director of Family
Health Centers (FHC), attended the GLMS
Board of Governors to discuss Governor Matt
Bevin’s Medicaid Waiver proposal. The FHC
serves approximately 30,000 Louisville residents each year. “We believe that the changes
proposed will result in many of those people
losing Medicaid coverage,” Wagner said. “Any
savings from the program may very well go
to paying for the administrative costs.” While
the public comment period for the Medicaid
waiver has ended, a new public comment
section will be available once the federal government receives the waiver. GLMS urges all
members who have commented at the state
level to submit their comments at the federal
level as well.
The Board approved a $500 donation to the
Doctors and Lawyers for Kids’ Ramble by the
River which took place Saturday, August 13.
