WORDS BY COX AUTOMOTIVE AUSTRALIA
A strong automotive fleet sector depends on many things , not least a vibrant marketplace for asset remarketing . Manheim Australia is rising to the challenge .
It has been a significant year of change for Manheim with new hires , improved facilities , sharpened processes , and a major uptick in sold volume across all fleet verticals . Not to mention an appetite for ongoing innovation .
We ’ re about selling fleet vehicles of all shapes and sizes as quickly as possible , for the best returns , improving the total life cost equation for sellers . It ’ s an integral part of the overall value chain , and one that fleet managers need to keep tabs on .
Here are five things worth discussing from 2024 that have improved Manheim ’ s buyer experience and vendor outcomes .
Restructured team :
Manheim ’ s re-structured Vehicle Remarketing Services team , led by Shakira Loveridge , enters 2025 primed , with experience and contacts across the automotive sector and some new faces .
Leaders include Head of Fleet , Government , Rental and Corporate Daniel Colina ; Head of OEM Heath Stubbs ; and Head of Dealer Wayne Oats . Their combined experience includes roles at BMW Australia , Stellantis , Toyota Fleet Management , SG Fleet , AusNet , and McIlroy Auto Group .
Manheim also welcomed National Auction Manager Andrew Chapman back to the business , with one of his responsibilities being the development of a Manheim Auction Academy , to train the next generation of auctioneers . Investing in people will pay dividends on vendor returns .
New types of auctions :
The annual sold-volume uptick of 35 % doesn ’ t happen by accident , nor does it suffice to lean on business-as-usual tactics . Manheim Australia spent 2024 trying new types of auctions to engage buyers and put better returns into vendor pockets .
