fishing seminars at the Kayak
City booth between the Pavilion
Building and Building C near the
food court throughout the ISE
Show!
The Fish Sniffer’s Cal Kellogg
will be speaking about trout
fishing, kayaking and more at
3 o’clock Thursday, 11 o’clock
Saturday and 12 o’clock on
Sunday.
During his seminars, Cal will
be taking questions,
signing books
and giving
away
fishing tackle. As a special bonus
one attendee will be randomly
selected by Cal during each of his
seminars and that lucky person
will be given a rod and reel

Bishop, CA: Your Gateway to Year

ishop is a popular Golden State
trout fishing destination during
the regular open season, the end of
April through November 15th.
Now, a few more anglers are
realizing that the year-round
waters are worth the trip,
and just require a few more
clothing layers and some
cold-weather gear. Quiet
and uncrowded, Bishop is
the place to be.
The highlight of the year-
round season is Bishop’s
annual Blake Jones Trout
Derby. Both the Owens River
and Pleasant Valley Reservoir are
primed with heavy-weight brood-
stock and rainbow trout. Grab your warm
gear because this derby is off the hook!!
Fishermen and women will be vying
for their share of more than $10,000 in
prizes on March 16th, 2019. Don’t miss
the 51st year of the biggest trout derby in
California!

become recognized as one of the premier
fly-fishing locations in the state.
Below the wild trout area, general
regulations where there are more rainbows
and wild browns. For a little solitude, head
down to the Owens River Gorge. It’s a bit
of a walk, but worth the journey. There are
also some guided float trips on the Owens
River near Bishop, so check out the local
