A journey
through Great Movies
The Space and alien life were ever fascinating topics for science fictions.
Science fiction movies, where the space missions, accidents in space, the
breath-taking and brave efforts by astronauts to return to earth are
always a matter of astonishment to the viewers. From the movie Apollo 13
based on lunar mission, till the recent Gravity and Interstellar, many
similar films were giving us the experience of the unknown world of space
travel. Even when the viewers are on extreme anxiety, the scenes in the
movies familiarizes us the most complicated task like spacewalk.
The latest movie “Martian”, which narrates the story of an astronaut who
got struck at the distant mars planet is yet a different experience to the
viewers. In this movie, we see a mars mission which NASA plans after 20
years. As part of the Ares III mission, six astronauts headed by Melissa
Lewis is exploring the horizons of mars, where the movie ‘Martian’ begins.
It is the 18 the day since they reached the reddish empty plains. It was
suddenly, when Commander Lewis was collecting samples, she received the
emergency message from earth NASA’s mission control station. A fierce
storm of dust is heading towards their camp. Cancel the mission and
return immediately to the spacecraft Hermes in orbit. One of the
astronaut Mark Watney is lost in the dust storm and darkness. The
commander received telemetry message that the astronaut was hit by
machinery parts and his space suit got danged with holes. If the suit is
damaged the person inside will die in one minute. It is a stage when they
feared that their launch vehicle for return also is getting damaged in the
storm, the team decided to blast off leaving mars behind assuming
Watney is dead by now.
