Both quarterbacks can use their legs. McElree backed up Gavin Beard last year but got experience by starting in the Lancaster and Brewer games.
At 6-foot-1, the 200 + lb. junior offers a bigger build than Tubbs; however, Tubbs brings a different speed as one of the best athletes on the roster, Jones noted.
In 2024, Finley set the program’ s record for touchdowns in a season with 21, while catching 81 passes for 1,432 yards.
Expecting to have a lot of fun with this offense, Finley doesn’ t see any drop-off in the quarterback position.
According to Jones, the quarterback battle between Tubbs and Nash McElree brings an element to the offense that wasn’ t possible last year: the QB run.
