The Position
The Fire Chief has the unique opportunity to spearhead the creation and development of an exceptional department as well as leave an unforgettable mark on Jupiter ’ s rich history . Reporting directly to the Town Manager , the Fire Chief will develop the newly created JFRD into one of the country ’ s most prestigious fire and rescue departments . The Fire Chief is expected to obtain and maintain an ISO “ Class 1 ” rating and other department accreditations . In addition to providing oversight and leadership for the day-today operational activities of the fire rescue department , the Fire Chief will also serve as the top technical advisor to the Town on fire , disaster management and EMS issues . The Fire Chief is also responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive employee and labor relations climate .
