of the 20 th Anniversary of the Financial Protocol
A lot has been said and written about the Financial Protocol, first signed between China and Israel in 1995
and now entering its 21st year. Acquainting myself with the Protocol was one of my first tasks when I started
my position as the Accountant General in 2011. Through learning about the Protocol, and through my visits
to China with regards to the Protocol, I was exposed to China's rich history and culture, which are reflected in
modern day China. Furthermore, I was introduced to the extensive and close cooperation between China and
Israel and the historic connection between the Chinese and the Jewish people.
The Protocol itself is an unambiguous testimony of the power of mutual cooperation and collaboration
between our two countries. These collaborations have resulted in various projects in diverse fields,
incorporating cutting edge technologies in water and agriculture, clean-tech, and medicine.
I am certain of the Financial Protocol's ability to expand into new fields, enhancing the successful relationship
between our two countries, while continuing to benefit the economic development of both China and Israel.
