As job complexity increases, the percentage of employees with higher qualification increases (refer to
Figure 3.4). 48% of the Malaysian employees in the Managers category has obtained at least degree
qualifications. 65% of the Malaysian employees within the Professionals has obtained up to degree
qualifications and above. For the Technicians & Associate Professionals and Craft & Related Trade
Workers categories, the share of employees holding TVET qualifications was the highest when
compared to other job categories. Most of the semi-skilled and low-skilled/no-skilled jobs had a higher
share of employees with secondary education as the highest education level.
The percentage of employees with no formal education or primary education was higher in the Skilled
Agricultural, Forestry, Livestock & Fishery Workers and Elementary Occupations categories.
