Cash Incentives
In NER 2018, only 22% of the establishments paid cash incentives to its Malaysian full-time employees.
The average median cash incentives paid was 15% (i.e. RM500 per month) to the median monthly basic
salary as indicated in Figure 2.32.
Analysis by Establishment Size
In terms of establishment size, the Medium establishments provided the highest average cash incentive
at median level. When compared to the proportion of cash incentive to the average basic salary, Small
and Medium establishments provided about 16% extra on top basic salary to its employees in the means
of cash incentive.
