Analysis by Sector
Real Estate sector paid its employees cash incentives close to 53% of their median monthly basic salary,
the highest of all sectors, followed by Administrative & Support Service sector with cash incentives
close to 35% of their basic salary. On the other hand, Accommodation & Food Service sector paid the
least amount of cash incentive to its employee at RM188 per month on average. Overall, 8 out of 18
MSIC sectors paid their employees cash incentive that was below the overall average.

Analysis by Occupational Structure
Across all job categories (refer to Figure 2.33), Malaysian employees in Plant & Machine Operators &
Assemblers category were given higher incentives, i.e. 35% to the median monthly basic salary than
employees in other job categories. As for Foreign employees, Technicians & Associate Professionals
received the highest cash incentives of 50% to the median monthly basic salary paid to that category.
