National Employment Returns (NER) 2018 Analysis by Occupational Structure The gender pay gap for full-time employees varies widely by type of occupation as displayed in Figure 2.17. When looking at the gender pay gap for full-time employees by job occupation, it is in favour of male employees for eight out of the nine occupation groups. The Clerical Support Workers categories show a slightly higher median monthly basic salary for female workers when compared to their male counterparts. While the number of male and female employees within the Professionals job category was almost equal, there was still a gap in their salaries, as the female employees within the Professionals category received 17% less than their male colleagues in terms of salaries.
