The average associated cost: $400 After the applied ceramic coating has gone through its curing time, it is best to put the vehicle on a regular maintenance schedule. You should bring the vehicle back to your detailer two to four times a year to maintain the coating for you. This will greatly depend on the miles put on the vehicle and what type of driving is being done. The vehicle should probably be seen by its detailer at least 4 times a year to maintain its protection. Your vehicle is probably doing something awesome and thus is generally in need of a bath. If it generally looks pretty good... the reason why… because it’s ceramic coated. One very important thing to remember with a ceramic coating, you can never again take the vehicle through a drive-thru car wash with the brushes. Touchless car washes or by hand only!! Ceramic coatings are a wonderfully designed nanotech coating… however they are not magic. They must be properly maintained. It is very possible to wash and detail your vehicle at home or on the road yourself as well, it just takes the right products and tools! At RI Motorsports and Detail, we generally include most everything for our clients in the ceramic coating package pricing. But we do offer each service separately. Once the base coat is cured (after a period of two hours) then the topcoat can be applied. Once the topcoat is applied, the ceramic on those applied areas is complete. After the coating has been applied to the vehicle it is highly recommended the vehicle remains indoors to cure. As with any ceramic coating there is a curing time. The curing times can vary with different brands. It’s best to follow the direction of your detailing professional. A good rule to follow is do not wash the vehicle with anything but water for the first 7 days, and only if necessary. Do you want to see IGL Kenzo in action? Check this short video by clicking here.
