uerto Montt es la sede más austral de la
Copa Mundial Sub-17 de la FIFA Chile
2015. Es la capital de la Región de Los Lagos
y se ubica frente al seno de Reloncaví.
La ciudad, que cuenta con la segunda base
naval más importante del país, posee un
puerto que conecta a las regiones extremas
de Aysén y Magallanes con el resto de Chile, siendo además, la puerta de entrada a
la maravillosa Carretera Austral, uno de los
lugares más hermosos que existen en esta
zona del mundo. Es también el nexo principal con el archipiélago de Chiloé.
Sus 74 kilómetros de costa nutren la imponente gastronomía local con pescados
y mariscos, que se pueden encontrar en la
famosa caleta Angelmó, reconocida por sus
restaurantes y sus locales de artesanía.
A ocho minutos de la ciudad se ubica otro
de sus principales atractivos turísticos, la Isla
Tenglo, que cuenta con pequeñas playas de
arenas blancas, que ofrecen una maravillosa vista a los volcanes Osorno, Colbuco y
Tronador.

uerto Montt is the most austral venue of
the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015. It
is the capital of the region of Los Lagos and
is located in front of the Reloncavi sound.
The city, that counts with the second most
important naval base of the country, has
a port that connects the extreme regions
of Aysen and Magallanes with the rest of
Chile, being also, the entrance port to the
wonderful Carretera Austral, one of the
most beautiful places that exists in this part
of the world. It is also the main link to the
Chiloe archipelago.
Its 74 kilometres of coast feed the stunning
local gastronomy with fish and seafood,
that can be found in the famous small cove
Angelmo, recognized by its restaurants and
handcraft marketplace.
Eight minutes away from the city another
touristic attraction is found, the Tenglo
Island that has small beaches with
white sand, which offer a wonderful view to the volcanoes Osorno, Calbuco and Tronador.
