The most austral of the world
E
n 1982, las autoridades locales deciden
la construcción de un pequeño estadio
que serviría para albergar el Campeonato
Nacional de Fútbol Amateur. Tras lograr su
objetivo y la consolidación del Club Deportes Puerto Montt en el profesionalismo, el
recinto comienza a recibir competencias
de primer nivel y pasa a ser denominado
como el “Estadio más Austral del Mundo”.
Dada las características climáticas de la
zona, donde la lluvia es invitada frecuente, el Chinquihue fue el primer estadio de
Chile en contra con césped artificial.
En 2009, es anunciada su reconstrucción,
la que se completó cuatro años más tarde,
tras una fuerte inversión de 9.300 millones de pesos, que permitieron dotarlo de
la más alta tecnología. Cuenta con capacidad para diez mil espectadores, techo y
butacas, torres de iluminación, estacionamientos y pantallas exteriores.
Además destaca por la increíble vista que
ofrece a la Isla Tenglo, convirtiéndolo en
uno de los recintos más lindos de Chile.
I
n 1982, the local authorities decided to

to host the National Amateur Football
Championship. After achieving their goal
and the consolidation of Club de Deportes
Puerto Montt in the professionalism, the
stadium begins to host top-level competitions and becomes to be known as the
“Most Austral Stadium in the World”.
Given the climatic characteristics of the
area, where rain is frequent guest, the
Chinquihue was the first stage of Chile
against artificial grass.
In 2009, is announced its reconstruction,
which was completed four years later,
after heavy investment of 9,300 million
pesos, which allowed providing it with
the latest technology. It has capacity for
ten thousand spectators, roof and seats,
lighting towers, parking lots and outdoor
screens.
It also stands out for the incredible view
that offers the Tenglo Island, making it
one of the most beautiful venues in Chile.
