I’m becoming increasingly interested in a wardrobe that feels collected rather than constantly replaced. Instead of asking, “What do I need to buy this season?” I find myself asking, “What do I already own that I’m excited to wear again?”
Maybe it’s a beautifully cut black blazer that has been sitting untouched since spring. A pair of boots that instantly changes the way I walk into a room. A great belt. A vintage or archival piece that feels even more special now than when it was first created. September gives those clothes another life.
And lately, I’ve been especially drawn to pieces with a past.
There is something incredibly modern about looking backward. Fashion has always been cyclical, but our renewed fascination with archival design feels like more than nostalgia. When you discover a piece from another decade—something beautifully constructed, distinctive, and still relevant today—you’re reminded that great design doesn’t really expire.
That idea has changed the way I shop. I’m less interested in having everything that is “new” and more interested in finding something exceptional. Something I’ll still want to pull from my closet five or ten Septembers from now.
