T
here’s something
about
September that has always felt like the true beginning of the year.
January may come with resolutions, but September comes with reinvention. The air changes, the light shifts, and suddenly getting dressed
feels interesting again. After months of linen, bare shoulders, sandals, and the beautiful simplicity of summer, September invites us back into our closets with a little more intention.
For me, this is when fashion becomes fun again.
September sits in that perfect in-between. It’s not quite time for heavy coats and winter boots, but summer dressing no longer feels completely right. A silk dress suddenly wants a blazer thrown over it. Sandals make room for a beautiful loafer or a pointed-toe pump. Denim returns. Leather returns. And the pieces we’ve almost forgotten
about begin making
their way back into
rotation.
Perhaps that’s why
September has always
carried such
importance in fashion.
It marks the beginning
of the fall season, the
arrival of the
September issues,
Fashion Month, and a
collective shift toward
what comes next. But
beyond the runways, I
think there’s
something more
personal happening.
It’s a chance to edit.
