Christkindlmarket Chicago
There are a couple of different Christkindlemarkets located in Chicago, but my fave is a block over from State Street in Daley Plaza. The sights, smells, and surroundings make this Holiday centric market a special place to gather with family and friends. It’s a free event, featuring international and local vendors with various offerings for all ages. In recent years, it has been nominated as one of the Top 10 Holiday Markets by USA Today. Grab a mix of warm bagged nuts, German style potato pancakes, and some imported mulled wine. Be sure to stop at an ATM on the way to get plenty of cash as many vendors don’t take credit cards. This is a great place to people watch and take in the spirit of the season.
