State Street
When you want to do some shopping there is no better place to get into the holiday spirit than State Street located in the heart of downtown Chicago. Specifically, Macy’s on State Street is a great place to start. That stretch of State Street is beautifully decorated with ornaments, animated holiday window dressings, and lights. Inside Macy’s you will also want to view their Great Tree, a Chicago tradition that dates back to 1907 and dine in their iconic Walnut Room restaurant. Keep walking north on State Street and take in other sites such as the Chicago Theater, retails shops and bustling restaurants. State Street is easy to access via the L train or by foot especially if you’re staying near downtown Chicago.
