The Lions at the Art Institute of Chicago

If you have ever been to Chicago and walked by the Art Institute of Chicago on Michigan Ave. it’s impossible not to see two prominent Lions standing guard at the entrance. The Lions have stood there since the Institute opened and are perceived as the guardians of the building. Every year the Lions are decorated with festive evergreen wreaths that attracts locals and tourists alike to stop and take photos. I’ve lived in Chicago for over 20 years, but this was my first time ever taking a photo with these iconic beasts. After posing with the Lions step inside the Art Institute to check out a collection of art that spans centuries and the globe.
