The Bad Relationship
Let’s start with the obvious. A bad relationship can prompt a lot of things to go wrong whether you’re married or dating. But a “bad” relationship is subjective and only the people involved knows what makes it bad. Being in a not so good relationship though doesn’t automatically mean that your man will stray, but some of the men that I spoke to alluded to a few examples that could make them bounce.
We’ll start with a sexless relationship. Men that are not feeling the love at home may seek it somewhere else. If a guy is always asking his wife or significant other to take it to the bedroom and she continues to reject him then that could lead to frustration and resentment. Excuses such as “I’m too tired” or “Not right now” will eventually fall on deaf ears and prompt the man to stop trying. Some men are turned off if they feel that they have to put in “too much work” in order to convince their wives to make love. But there’s always two sides to every coin, so a lack luster marriage may be the cause of the woman’s reaction. Nonetheless, the quality of a relationship or lack thereof, is probably the biggest reason why some men become unfaithful.
The Denial
Some men want to be in a committed relationship, but when it actually happens there may be a little hesitation to go all in. If a guy has been single his entire life and then decides to settle down, he is halting a behavior that he’s been accustomed to for a long time. By behavior, I mean being able to approach women he’s attracted to whenever and wherever he wants. A lot of men can’t initially turn that off and it sort of becomes a denial that they can no longer act upon their carnal desires. The good news is that most men resist the temptation of seriously stepping out and usually walk away after a little flirting, especially if they really love their significant other. But some men can’t help themselves and want to continue down that road. An unstable relationship will definitely make their decision a lot easier. The good thing about the denial stage is that it normally goes away as the commitment becomes longer and stronger. But that doesn’t mean that he may fall into another category that will prompt him to stray at another time.
