I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO VISITING
HEREFORD, SAYS SANTA
Hi children
As you have probably guessed this is the busiest time of the year for me, So much to do and so little
time to do it. But I really am looking forward to the time I will spend in Hereford and meeting so many
children – and their mums and dads. I call it Hectic Hereford because my schedule is brim full. Those
nice chaps from the city Lions Club make all the arrangements for my visit. They really are jolly good
helpers.
My favourite is riding on Santa’s Sleigh through virtually every street in town and nearby villages
meeting and chatting to thousands of children who tell me what they would like for Christmas or give
me a letter. Remember to put your name and address on it so I can send you a reply. I also love the time
I spend in Santa’s Grotto at Wyevale Garden Centre. I just enjoy listening to you all tell me what I am
to deliver to your home on Christmas eve. I was very touched last year when one young lad told me
all he wanted was for his grannie to have a new knee so she could play with him in the garden and take
him for walks!!
But there is one visit that is extra special. Every Christmas morning I pop into the children’s ward
at Hereford Hospital to cheer up those children spending Christmas in hospital and to give them
presents. I also pop into the maternity ward with some presents for the new born babies. I actually met
a Christmas Day baby last year.
