Technical visits at Companhia dos Fermentados and Fermentec

The research group in fermentation (NEFER) visited Companhia dos Fermentados and Fermentec in June 2017. Both companies work in the fermentation area, but in very different ways. Companhia dos Fermentados is a young company founded by Fernando Goldenstein Carvalhaes, who produces Kombucha of varied flavors and canned vegetables. In addition, the company offers courses that teaches their techniques so that people can make the products at home, and, consequently, know more about fermentative processes.

FERMENTEC, founded by Dr. Henrique Vianna de Amorim, is a company with 40 years of existence. The company has its own well-designed laboratories enabling the conduction of research in fermentation and sugar, as well as all chemical and microbiological analyzes, and innovative solutions for its customers. Fermentec generates and transfers sugar, alcohol and distillate plants technology with high implementation rate and high operating impact.

These two visits could be seen as two different perspectives. The environment of a fully functioning company, verify its dynamics, organization, and all the theoretical factors implicit in it. As activities still enabled a greater integration of the group.

Both visits were of great value for NEFER members, by seem opportunities of job and industries that work on Fermented products.
