Newcastle, New South Wales.
The skylights are an integral component and feature
of this unique and innovative renovation. Thanks to the
northerly aspect and clever design they provide light and
ventilation to both the upper and lower levels.
A custom coupled bank is made up of three Manual
Openable Velux Skylights 780 x 1400. The double glazing
includes a laminated inner pane for added safety, an outer
pane of toughened safety glass and an argon filled cavity
together with low-E coating to increase thermal efficiency.
JUDGES’ COMMENTS
The amount of light flooding into the basement of this
house is remarkable. A great demonstration of skylight
use.
