Phase 2 : Awareness After you have acknowledged your self-worth in the way discussed at phase one , you can move to phase two , awareness of the experience . The purpose of this phase is to analyze parts of experiences tied to the ‘ Self ’. For example , you are sad because you fought with a friend . What does this sad feeling tell you about what is important to you ? Your sadness doesn ’ t mean right away that your friendship is still important to you . It can also be the case you are sad because you know that you need to let go of the friendship . So , ask yourself , why is it that I ’ m sad . If you skip this phase and only have the impulse to do something instead of doing it from the connection with yourself , you act from defense and you might make a wrong decision that you later will regret .
Phase 3 : Action After going through the first two phases , acknowledgment of the ‘ Self ’ and awareness of the experience , it is time to ask yourself : “ What choices and decisions do I need to make that are in line with who I truly am ?” In the awareness phase , you discovered that you are sad because you know the friendship isn ’ t right for you anymore . In the action phase , decide what you are going to do with this feeling . This phase can cause you to sometimes be courageous and speak out clearly about where you stand and what you want . It is almost impossible to go through these three phases in every experience you have . That is why you can start trying to do this more when emotions are high , or you feel that there is an important choice to make .
