3 Something that must be made clear is that self-connection is not the same as your selfesteem . Self-esteem is part of self-connection and all about how you perceive yourself , which you often judge by looking at your successes and failures . This method of judging can contain pitfalls . When you know success , you might repeat the behavior that led to the success . For example , when you got a good grade on your exam by studying every day till deep in the night and by taking almost no rest , you risk continuing this pattern you associate with success . This can lead eventually to a burn-out . Therefore , only looking at success and failure when determining if you are worthy , carries the danger of leaving unhealthy patterns and forgetting to listen to your body and your feelings . out . The process of self-connection can be described in three phases .
Phase 1 : Acknowledgement Self-connection begins with the recognition of being worthy just by living . You don ’ t have to earn your ‘ Self ’ it is something you already are . This phase can be difficult because for it to succeed , you need to let go of old patterns such as the assumption that your worthiness is based on success and failure .
Maybe this won ’ t be the case for you , however , this method is based on things that must be accomplished before you feel worthy , and many people will experience this as an endless to-do list . Self-connection is something that can ’ t be accomplished by finding yourself externally , but by acting and making decisions from the inside
