Arlene Bayer is stepping down from the position of Treasurer. Thank you Arlene for many years of great service to WSCA. Mandy Gustafson( Wright Saddle Club) will fill the position of Treasurer. She brings many years of experience to the position as she has worked as a CPA for many years. Her combined career experience and long-time membership with WSCA will make her a great fit for the position. Mandy has been meeting with Arlene to go over the details and procedures of the position. Jumping in feet first, Mandy shared with the board the new Minnesota Tax info for Paid leave premiums. WSCA is subject to this new law starting in 2026. As the employer, WSCA has to decide what percentage of premium they wish to pay. Liz asked if employees may elect to have 100 % of the premium deducted from their pay, Mandy stated that according to the new law, employees cannot cover more than 40 % of the premium.
