On November 14th , 2024 , Fannin County Family Connection ’ s Family Care Program partnered with Toys for Tots . Through this partnership Toys for Tots assisted in hosting an event for grandparents raising their grandchildren to give the opportunity to hand pick toys for their grandchildren to open on Christmas morning . Many of our Family Care grandmothers were able to benefit from this partnership , leaving with bags full of new toys for Christmas .
Toys for Tots is housed under FCFC during the holiday season making it more accessible for the families we serve to receive help during Christmas . Around 320 families that receive services at the pantry also received assistance for Christmas through Toys for Tots .
The Toys for Tots distribution occurred on December 26th and 27th . On December 26th FCFC opened the pantry to families coming to pick up toys , and transformed it into a shopping center filled with new clothes , socks , underwear , toys , jewelry , games , etc . Our goal was to give these families a chance to Christmas shop for free . This was made possible through the amazing support and generous donations of our collaborative partners , volunteers , and dedicated staff .
