Ask Aunt Angie
Introducing“ Ask Aunt Angie,” in which Aunt Angie answers your questions! Or at least what she imagines your questions might be.
Dear Aunt Angie,
Dear Aunt Angie,
Can you recommend any good exercise or sports groups for adults in First Colony?
Charlie is my 3-year-old labradoodle. He loves rawhide chews, harpsichord music, and sunny days. Here’ s the thing … when I take Char-Char out to do his business, he’ s often in a big hurry to get back inside. The humidity bothers him. I do bring bags along and usually pick up after him, but the little scallywag often drags me back home before I get a chance. Not a big deal, despite what my neighbor says, right?
Sincerely, Doodle Dad
Dear Doodle Dad,
Frankly, I’ m appalled by this. While I have nothing personally against the harpsichord, the metallic plunking of the instrument may very well hurt the dog’ s ears. He is likely just pretending to enjoy it for your sake. I suggest switching to jazz marimba.
As for failing to dispose of your dog’ s mess … may you be locked in a small, echoey hall with 50 harpsichords playing“ On Top of Old Smokey” over and over. Please pick up after Char-Char.
Best, Aunt Angie
Sincerely, Fitness Fanatic
Dear Fitness Fanatic,
Great question! Aunt Angie will do her best to answer, although she doesn’ t regularly engage in traditional fitness activities such as“ cardiovascular workouts,”“ resistance training,”“ aerobic exercise,”“ parking further away from the building,” or“ getting out of the recliner.”
No, Aunt Angie prefers sparring-style exercises involving the mind rather than the body. Examples: posting open letters on NextDoor about people parking in the wrong direction on the street, leaving irritated restaurant reviews on Yelp because someone at the next table was slurping soup, that sort of thing. I call it Mental Martial Arts. Hope that helps.
Best, Aunt Angie
