The Learning Commons creates a
welcoming environment for
exploration, collaboration, discovery,
and creation. The space merges the
best of the physical and digital worlds.
Students can work individually or
together in small groups. It is a more
barrier-free space in terms of student
use, and is designed to reflect the
innovation happening around campus.
It brings together the best of the physical and digital worlds to create learning hubs. Printed
books still play a critical role, but digital technologies offer additional pathways to learning
and content acquisition. Our Learning Commons with encourages participatory learning
and allows for understanding from a variety of sources that fosters learning and
communications.
Viseo books are available for students with low-vision,
as well as hand-held devices that magnify text and imageĀ information.
E-books are also available.
Students create ASL TV news shows through the
Media and Broadcasting Center,
and have opportunities for ASL Storytelling.
A TV studio provided in American Sign Language
allows for the creation of announcements
and films, as well as news and stories.
Our Learning Commons utilizes the Follett System
and student can access a wide range of library materials
on campus, or off campus, remotely.
