Center For Exploration
and Creative
Learning
CECL
In October of 2017, under the leadership of
Superintendent, Dr. Bradley Porche',
New York School for the Deaf
opened the doors to their Center for
Exploration and Creative Learning (CECL).
This center consists of a state-of-the-art STEAM Lab,
as well as a Learning Commons.
The CECL enriches the academic and technical education
program for all students. The curriculum enables students to
take what they learn in the classroom, and practically apply
knowledge to the world around them.
The STEAM Lab focuses on encouraging
students to use their imagination to apply
their Science, Technology, Engineering,
Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) skills
for the 21st Century college or career track.
This program allows our students to
explore hands-on and interactive
learning with today's latest technology.
Our students are flying drones, learning
computer programming and coding, and
operating 3-D printers to bring designs
to life. Our students are taking their
learning to new heights.
