Feedback isn’ t about telling people what to do. Effective feedback involves giving and being receptive to clear and constructive information that helps to improve performance, bolster morale, help people develop, ensure retention, and get the job done. This course will introduce communication models that help to plan and deliver effective feedback. These strategies can be used to encourage productive behaviors as well as stop the behaviors that are negatively impacting your team. This two-part course in the Self-Awareness pathway starts by exploring participants’ experiences with receiving performance feedback and examining why openness to feedback matters for working effectively, as well as what can make it difficult. Participants will learn practical, evidence-based strategies to receive feedback in a constructive and meaningful way and apply them through guided roleplay. Building on that foundation, the course shifts to giving feedback. Participants will explore why delivering feedback is essential, what can make it challenging, and how to use a simple, effective model to communicate clearly and with positive intent.
This course is a required element of the Self-Awareness Learning Pathway.
