The Young Lawyers Section ( YLS ) continues to host social events across the state , providing great networking opportunities for young lawyers . All lawyers are encouraged to participate in these webinars to earn continuing legal education credits .

RACHAEL MICKELSON HENDRICKSON
Rachael Mickelson Hendrickson is the owner and sole practitioner of Mickelson Hendrickson Law Office LLC in Rolla . She is licensed to practice law in North Dakota and holds a TERO license to practice law on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation . She works on a wide variety of cases , but primarily focuses on estate planning , probates , civil litigation , contracts , and real estate transactions . She also serves as the municipal prosecutor for the cities of Rolla and Dunseith .
Mickelson Hendrickson grew up in Rolla and spent her childhood working with her father and grandfather on the family farm . She attended Lake Region State College online and completed her first two years of college while still in high school . She then attended the University of North Dakota ( UND ) for two years and received her bachelor of science in psychology . Mickelson Hendrickson then received her master of science in Forensic Psychology from the University of North Dakota ( UND ) and began teaching psychology courses for Lake Region State College . The partnership between the UND School of Law and the Psychology Department inspired Mickelson Hendrickson to attend law school at UND .
During law school , Mickelson Hendrickson was a member and technical and research editor of the " North Dakota Law Review ” and coordinated the National Native American Law Students Association Moot Court Competition hosted by the UND School of Law . She graduated from the UND School of Law in December 2020 , where she was honored as the top of her class and the 2021 Outstanding Law Student Leader .
Mickelson Hendrickson opened her solo law office immediately following law school . In her free time , she enjoys spending time with her seven-month-old son Kampbell , her husband , and family . She and her mother operate the farmer ’ s market in Rolla , and she continues to invest in her community through renovating old buildings .
RYAN JOYCE
YOUNG LAWYER SHOWCASE
Ryan Joyce is an associate attorney at ES Attorneys in Bismarck . He is licensed to practice in North Dakota and works on a variety of cases with a primary focus in civil litigation . Prior to joining ES Attorneys , he worked as an assistant to the majority leader in the North Dakota House of Representatives .
Joyce grew up in Tioga . He attended the University of Mary , where he received a bachelor ’ s degree in public policy with minors in economics and biology in 2018 . During his undergraduate studies , he worked as a staff assistant in Sen . Kevin Cramer ’ s office .
Joyce attended Gonzaga University School of Law , where he graduated cum laude . During law school , he was a member of Gonzaga ’ s National Appellate Advocacy Team and served as a teaching assistant . He also worked as an intern in the Spokane County Prosecutor ’ s Office .
In his free time , Joyce enjoys spending time with friends and family , camping , hiking , and running .
