Uniform Changes Coming
Uniform Changes Summary : 1 . 12 / 31 / 21 = The tucked ODU will no longer be an authorized uniform item . The only authorized ODU will be the untucked ODU .
2 . 01 / 01 / 22 = The untucked ODU is now the only authorized ODU for Auxiliarists .
3 . 12 / 31 / 21 = The Alternate Working Uniform ( AWU ) is authorized to be purchased and worn by all Auxiliarists . ( Access Link below for details and more information .) An AWU procured by an Auxiliarist will be authorized to be worn until no longer serviceable .
3 . b . The Alternate Working Uniform ( AWU ) will provide more sizing availability , and will allow those members who opt not to follow some the grooming standards to remain active and valuable members of the Auxiliary .
4 . 2024 = The new Coast Guard Work Uniform ( CGU ) will be made available to Auxiliarists during Fiscal Year 2024 when the untucked ODU will begin to be phased out , over two years .
4 . b . The new Coast Guard Work Uniform ( CGU ) will not be available in sizes that are larger than the sizes worn by the Active Duty ; this means that the CGU may not be available to some of our members . ( The Alternate Working Uniform [ AWU ] will provide more sizing availability , and may be worn instead of the CGU so they may remain active .)
The Coast Guard Working Uniform ( CGU ) is essentially the latest iteration of the CG Operational Dress Uniform ( ODU ). To the left is a photo of the CGU .
