Montgomery Academy junior Alisha Singh has
been selected to attend Alabama Girls State,
and junior Easton Strickler has been selected to
attend Alabama Boys State. Alabama Girls State
is a week-long, fun-filled, hands-on learning
opportunity for some of the best and brightest
young women in the State of Alabama. Alabama
Boys State is one of the highest honors granted
to Alabama students. Students from across the
state are chosen based on their demonstration
of leadership, hard work, strong morals, and
motivation in school and community activities.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both events
have been postponed until summer 2021.

Dr. Miho Suga, originally from Japan, grew
up in Ohio and Georgia. After earning her
Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health from
Ohio State University, Dr. Suga earned
her medical degree from Ross University
School of Medicine in Portsmouth,
Dominica. She completed her residency in
Family Medicine at UnityPoint Health
Methodist Medical Center under the
University of Illinois College of Medicine
residency program.
