SHINES on the Softball Diamond

The Saddle Brook High School softball team enjoyed another successful season this spring, finishing with a 17-10 overall record and a 7-3 mark in the NJIC Liberty Division under the leadership of Head Coach Taryn DiGiacomo. Through a combination of veteran leadership, emerging young talent, and outstanding pitching, the Falcons once again established themselves as one of the area's top programs and earned a berth in the NJSIAA State Tournament.

Leading the offensive attack was senior Gabriella Bruce, who put together a remarkable season at the plate. Bruce batted an impressive .507 while collecting 34 hits, scoring 21 runs, and driving in 15 RBIs. Her consistency and ability to get on base made her one of the team's most valuable offensive contributors.

Senior Emily Escobar provided power and leadership throughout the lineup, batting .349 with 30 hits, 24 runs scored, 17 RBIs, and two home runs. Escobar's ability to produce in key situations helped fuel the Falcons throughout the season.

Junior Grace Wien was one of the team's most complete players, hitting .431 with 31 hits, 18 RBIs, 11 doubles, and a .653 slugging percentage. In addition to her offensive contributions, Wien dominated in the circle, compiling a 16-9 record with an outstanding 2.10 ERA and an incredible 305 strikeouts over 153.2 innings pitched. Her performance was instrumental in the Falcons' success and made her one of the top pitchers in the area.
