Cape May:

At the Southernmost tip of New Jersey is Cape May, a beach that is very popular for good reason. Cape May Beach has a long paved path called The Promenade which is basically its boardwalk. The two-mile Promenade runs alongside Beach Avenue and is lined with arcades, small boutiques, food shacks, restaurants, and surf shops. The town surrounding Cape May Beach is beautiful, and craft fairs are common in the Summer either on the Promenade itself or on nearby streets. Overall, Cape May is a gorgeous, family friendly beach lined with a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Of course, being such a popular choice means the beach can get very crowded especially in the peak months of July and August, but if you are looking for a lively environment, this would only add to the experience. Leave the Garden State Parkway at Exit 0 to reach Cape May.
