Impractical Cancellation

Cancel culture has always been a part of social media. But when does it cross the line? Should cancel culture even be considered necessary? Does it truly hold people accountable for their actions, or does it just create more harm than good? One major example that spread across multiple social media platforms was the news about Joe Gatto, a beloved figure from the popular show Impractical Jokers.

The Allegations

The allegations against Joe Gatto began on March 20th of this year, when a woman posted a video on TikTok that quickly spread across social media. In the video, she claimed she was sexually assaulted by Gatto when she was around 19 years old. She said they met while he was in Milwaukee and had communicated through Instagram. According to her, their conversations gradually became uncomfortable, and she shared screenshots of their messages as evidence.

Around the same time, another woman came forward, stating that she had interacted with Gatto when she was just 15 years old. She claimed the conversations turned more inappropriate once she turned 18. Gatto has publicly denied all allegations and continues to maintain his innocence.
