Faith Heart Magazine: Tell FHM
readers why I Can Fly and the
Butterfly Project should be in the
prayers of every faith warrior and why
they should support I Can Fly
International.
Sha’ Givens: There is so much warfare
in my area of ministry. I know there
are spiritual attacks in every area of
ministry, but living in a foreign
country has a different dynamic to it
than what I was accustomed to in the
United States. In the developing
world, I believe the resistance is more
open; there is more opposition to
fight you, more opposition to create
resistance at home, and this
opposition can be a little more
covert.
We’re making great strides with our
mission in Kenya. Sometimes everyone
isn’t happy to see breakthroughs.
Girls are being set free. All prayers
are needed so we can keep going. I
believe every believer should support
our mission because we’re fulfilling
the will of God.
We’re helping children who
can’t help themselves. That’s
what Jesus would do. HE
wouldn’t have it any other way.
Faith Heart Coach: What
empowered you to start two
literacy schools, a children’s
learning institute, and a family
food program (which feeds
over 500 men, women, and
children) in poverty stricken
areas of East Africa?
Sha’ Givens: I often joke about
it when I tell people that GOD
tricked me. This is why: I went
on a mission trip to Kenya
many years ago for a purely
evangelistic mission. I planned
on ministering to the poor for
a couple of weeks and going
back to my comfortable life in
Los Angeles. Within days of
meeting people in a small
remote village, one hour east
of (Machakos, Kenya), the Lord
began to speak to me.
