to manage my resources better. I became more
thankful and content and more connected to my
heavenly Father.
A few years ago, I relocated to my home country
after 11 years abroad. Exhausted from the move,
I silently hoped that I could take a 6 month break
from working full time. I was confident that since
my husband would be working, we would be able
to handle living on one income stream. I longed
for the time off – to rest and recuperate from the
hard work of relocating, to finish writing my book
and to spend time with family and to readjust to
our new soundings. But I didn’t know what was
ahead. Little did I know that we would both be
unemployed! Within a few days of coming home,
my husband’s position was made redundant. With
a house and a family to take care of, we needed
God’s help for sure. Even then my search for
alternative streams of income proved unfruitful.
But God proved faithful in that time. At the mark
of 6 months of no steady income, and somehow
being able to pay our expenses during that time,
I started a new job. There was no advertisement
and there was no official vacancy at the time
but my work experience caught the interest of
management and I was offered a new position that
never existed in the company before! God is truly
amazing.
So the question is again, “Can God help in a
financial crisis?” I say, Sure He can.” He can and
does provide for us. He provides in many different
ways…
